Winter Meadows with Alexia Gornichec

It’s so interesting seeing how different creatives see the world and more specifically how different photographers have a different eye for things. This specific shoot I had 4 different photographers shoot me and this was my sisters take on the shoot. She had her own eye for how she wanted my hair to look and even down to the clothes I was wearing. Regardless of it being around 12 degrees, we shot in Cedar Fort, Utah covered in the snow. In return, I snapped a few shots of her because how could I not with how gorgeous her face is. It was freezing cold but part of me loves the snow and loves the memories that always come with the cold and the winters in Utah. Valentine’s Day and a Red Lip

Oh Valentine’s Day, I love it! I am a girl who was raised with so much love surrounding her. I have really great parents who always take care of me, make sure that I have what I need and even spoil me with what I want. My siblings are my best friends, I grew up super close to every single one of them. Now that we are older, we remain friends and I love my sister-in-law and my nieces. We do vacations together, we always find ways to be together. I always sought this love out in other people. I look for those who have a huge heart and wear it on their sleeve, like myself. I look at the good in people and try really hard to be of service to everyone and to be kind.

Valentine’s Day has this bad rap of being another big business holiday. While yes, I agree I also think that it’s just a fun reminder to appreciate the ones you have, have had and will have in your life. It’s also a reminder to love yourself, for you always hear that saying about how “you cannot love someone with all your heart, unless you first love yourself”. I grew up with God and Jesus so strongly in my life, and they still are. When you understand how important you are to Heavenly Father and how much Jesus loves you that he bled out every pore for you, you realize your self-worth and the love towards yourself comes automatically and very strongly. Now, my generation mistakes this for selfishness. I always say: “Fix yourself, then forget yourself.” Just remember that it is so important to love everyone every single day. Trust me, I get how difficult it is. I pray for the strength to have a deep understanding of those around me. I pray for the protection against negativity and harm. I pray to thank and express gratitude and humility for everything that is good and bad on this earth. If there wasn’t bad, we wouldn’t understand good.

So, Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that you remember to love yourself, your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, enemies, pets, strangers and most importantly your God and your Savior. I love you and appreciate you for the person, the wonderful, amazing person you are. Thank you for catching up with me for Valentine’s Day. XOXO

So this weeks post is all about the jewelry company: Artisan Galaxy! Seriously such cute earrings that have more meaning than just a orb of metal. These earrings are shaped like the universe and they are shaped like an atom. To me, this came across as understanding yourself and then taking the time to understand the world, every atom that builds everything. Their company saying: “Our flagship line of Orbit earrings is inspired by the shape of an atom and the paths in a solar or orbital system.” tells that it really is about simplicity. Winter Makeup 101

For me to do my own makeup is a more rare occasion than you’d think. Most days of the week, someone else is touching my face and doing my makeup and the days when I am off I love to douse my skin in all the healthy creams and oils and let it relax. I do however love to play and get ready for dates, nights out or time with friends and family. As you know, skin and hair changes come winter. My skin goes pale white and my lips become dry and chapped and acne starts showing itself, especially if I am stressed. Which, let’s be honest is 100% of the time ( I’m working on being more Zen this year).

As the winter months last, I want my makeup to still have a flare but also I think a classy look with a dark lip is the PERFECT winter look. I love a darker lip because you’re not sweating or sipping your lipstick away like you do in the summer. This color that I am wearing on my lips is actually a sample of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy in color A45. I have a neutral undertone so most red lips work on my skin tone but what I love about this color is that it has a gold hue to it and is really pretty. It showed through the camera even more gorgeously than I thought. I also love any lipstick by Bite, I use the shade Pomegranate and I also love Lush’s Santa Baby. All of those are my favorite Red lipstick colors.

Mind you I did not do my hair for this shoot, it actually is still wet from the shower. On my face I am wearing RMS Uncover up foundation/concealer. I absolutely adore this stuff and it’s organic and so easy to wear and apply. It’s soft and my skin stays dewey and soft without the grease. I also love that it is a creamy formula in a pot rather than liquid. I use my fav Urban Decay Naked Skin in Medium Light Warm.

On my cheeks and highlight I am wearing Josie Maran’s Color Stick infused with Argan oil. I have simple coconut oil that I patted onto the high point of my cheek bones to not only infuse with more moisture but to also give a dewey glow.You guys know I love my healthy glow.

Now for my eyes, I got a palette from Ulta for my birthday called the Happy Birthday palette from NYX and I LOVE IT! It has the burnt oranges and deep red-browns that flatter everyones eye. I am wearing a burnt orange, I lined my inner eyes with a black eyeliner on my waterline. I took a darker eyeshadow right against my lashes and applied a few coats of the Better Than Sex by Too Faced mascara. I also took some of the darker eyeshadow and put it under my eyes in the outer corners. I love a smokey look and you can do smokey with literally any color. I then dusted my face with a all over face powder that’s about 10 shades too dark for me, but if you do it correctly you can make your face AND NECK appear like you have a tan. Oh, the wonders of makeup. Hence why I took these and it’s 30 degrees outside and it looks like I was just hanging out in the sun.

For those of you who always ask me where my clothes are from, the sweater I am wearing is from Fabletics. It came with cute pink workout pants and I’ll be completely honest, I don’t wear normal clothes. The majority of what I wear is workout and athlesiure wear, it’s so comfy and has become socially acceptable to wear spandex pretty much anywhere.

Pre-Workout Makeup

I always wake up early and hit Zumba first thing. It’s such a good feeling to be done with my workout before 7 in the morning. Some mornings, especially mornings in the winter my face looks like I returned from the dead. I like wearing makeup and the only makeup I wear at this point in my life is organic, clean and natural. This is why I am okay wearing these things to the gym. There are two products that I used that are not that natural and that is the blush and the Hourglass lipstick but I did those to add some color. Definitely swap it out for a Burt’s Bee’s lip balm, swap out the blush with one of Josie Maran’s. This is a easy routine, you look just as good during and after your workout as you did before, if not even better. GUESS WHAT!? No guilt, my skin feels and looks amazing after. Of course, follow your workout with your normal hygiene routine. Hope you enjoyed this weeks video! XOXO
